Page 3 Paying for school

A recipe for asking the right way.

School choice means the education money follows the child to the school the family picks. The state and the country sometimes give that money. Cluster Academy writes the recipe a school follows so it can ask. We call that recipe the franchise. It is a template: the same steps, every time.

Plain What this means

Follow the steps. Then you can ask.

A school does not get the money just by wanting it. Each pot of money has rules. The template lines the school up with those rules: the teacher, the records, the papers, and a way for families to see the spending. When the school qualifies, that money can help cover a child’s place.

  1. 1
    Open by the shared rules.

About twelve children at the building. One paid teacher every day. A parent helps one day a week. Reading, writing, math, and science come first.

  2. 2
    Keep a clear record.

Write down who is learning what, the papers a child has earned, and how money is spent. Families who take part can see it. Nothing important is hidden in a drawer.

  3. 3
    Use the Cluster recipe.

The template tells the school which papers to keep and which habits to hold, so the ask matches what the state and the country look for.

  4. 4
    Ask.

The school sends the ask. Each fund says yes or no by its own rules. The template is how you ask the right way. A yes is earned by meeting those rules.

  5. 5
The money helps pay for a child.

When a school qualifies, that education money can help pay for your child to attend. The family still sees the price, and the families still help decide.

Honest What we will say out loud

The path is real. A yes is earned.

Cluster does not hand you a check on day one. Cluster hands you the template, the records, and the steps. A school that follows them is in shape to ask the state and the country for education money. When that money comes, it is there to help a child go to school.

Same recipe

Every new school uses the same steps. You are not guessing what papers to keep.

Papers for the child

When your child can really do something, they get a paper. Every school in the group accepts it. Those papers also help the ask.

Money you can see

What comes in and what goes out stays where the families can look at it.
